I am seeing a couple posted for $50k "buy it now" price. Given the excitement for this car I would say that is not a horrible markup on the first run. As a stingy cheap mother I will not pay it but not too awful.

Looks like both of your links are gone. I looked up 2008 Challengers on eBay... I think one guy canceled his auction and re-listed the car at a $56k buy it now price. The other one is starting at $49.5k, but the reserve is higher than that. Both sellers are dealers. No surprises there.

I'm with you. Better to wait until later in 2008 or 2009 and pick one up then.

Ebay is ending all of the 08 Challenger auctions. If someone does win they don't have to go through with the auction.

Did they say why they are ending all the 08 Challenger auctions. I mean, plenty have sold up till now so why change? I think, if anything, Dodge should be the one policing the price gouging from dealers looking to make a fast buck.

Nothing to do with price gouging. None of these dealers actually HAVE a dodge challenger, therefore it is against ebay policy to sell something you don't have. What happens if some disaster occurs at dodge or for some reason these cars the dealers have been promised aren't actually produced? Sure it is a longshot for that to happen but if it does think of all the bs ebay would have to go through.

My Challengers already ordered but I bid on 5 different challengers just for the fun of it (bid way below the reserve, haha). Ebay would send a notification a few days later saying the auctions were canceled and I had no further obligation. Thay didn't say why they were canceled, but the dealer not having the car is probably the reason. The auctions pics are also mostly the concept not the actual car....very decieving. These dealers can't guarrantee a delivery time too.
