Are all Challengers garbage??
I was just reading the SRT8 section and saw the post where a guy was having the same stuck throttle and almost got killed as did I .
Then I read "elsewhere" , and it seems tons of people are having this problem , which could be deadley...
I will be making some phone calls and it could be Camaro time ... Sorry I don't wanna get killed.
It happened 3 times , and its been documented 2wice ... I have new "spark plugs and coils" , so i'm really wondering wtf is going on and why chrysler hasn't made an official statement.

Can you link us to some of these other experiences?
Good luck with the SS. GM might not even be around next year. There was a huge article on CNN about it this morning. They need more loans and even then - if sales aren't up next year chapter 11 is almost a certainty.

Well I hope you get somewhere in finding out what's going on with this. I'm not in the market yet so I'll be keeping my eyes open to hear any more about this, whether there's more occurences or something gets resolved. I've been teetering on the edge between challenger and camaro recently anyway (yeah I like both, sue me) so depending on what happens I might end up with a Camaro too.

Good point! The Challenger is based heavily on the Charger/300 platform from chassis to drive train so most of the bugs should have been worked out a while ago. A lot of the smaller components are borrowed from other Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep parts bins as well.
Is the Camaro based on an existing GM platform?

You guys are all assuming that the Camaro will not have first year "bugs" like any new car.

I think they are assuming there will be a GM.

I wouldn't plan on buying a Camaro on day one either. I'll be checking around to see about first year problems there as well.
Camaro is built on the same platform as the G8.
Also, if GM goes under there's no way in hell Chrysler's going to survive either so that's a moot point for me (And anyone comparing the 2)
