it is because he has a first year car.....first year bugs suck....good choice in changing rudy....you kept it in the big 3...gj

also yea gm might not be here next year and neither will chrysler...they are both in terrible situations...they just report on gm because they are public.

the camaro is based on the same platform as the g8 gxp and is an improved version of that platform..

It's not just first year issues. I have an 08 with 0 issues. My Uncle has an 09 6 speed with trans ,clutch, and bad wheel hop issues. From what I read on the forum here it looks like there are more 09 problems then 08s. I still think its a great car nothing really compares to its old school looks.

Realistically, 08s and 09s ALL are first-year cars. 6,400 does NOT constitute a realistic first-year issue of a new car. Not enough units were produced to adequately test the Challenger in real-world usage. Hence, everyone with an 08 or 09 can expect that there will be issues with the car that will be fixed by the time the 2010 models come out (assuming Chrysler still is around, of course).

Yes, it must be the well water.

I could understand the SRT8 Challys having issues, but what about the R/T's. How are the R/T friends doing with their cars. Oh yeah, and Camaro has a modified platfrom of the G8. It should have its bugs as well, but not so deadly like Rudy's

the challenger is a modified version of the charger, 300, magnum, so it should be in the same boat.

The Challenger is based heavily on the Charger/300 platform from chassis to drive train so most of the bugs should have been worked out a while ago. A lot of the smaller components are borrowed from other Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep parts bins as well.

You're absolutely right, there is no excuse why the Challenger should be having all these issues!

Maybe this is why Chrysler is at the bottom of the reliability scale nowadays!

4100 miles and no issues on my R/T 6-speed. All I do is drive it and I'm enjoying every mile Cars will have problems and we need to deal with them. Its how your dealership deals with the problem that is important. If they stand behind their product and do their best to resolve the issues, you can't ask for more than that. This is by far the best car I have ever owned and a real joy to drive every day. Mind you I have only owned Muscle cars and sport GTs. Oh and a Chevy mini van back in the 90s. I love this car
