4 speed question again.....
I recently have come across a 4 speed for $200. It is a working e body a-833 4 speed. I currently have a 3 speed that is mated to my 318. My question is, can I just swap all the components on my 3 speed, onto my 4 speed? The guy is giving my a small block bellhousing. Will the clutch and pressure plate be the same along with all the rods fpr the swap, or do I have to buy a new clutch and pressure plate? The clutch in the 3 speed is brand new. Will I need to shorten my driveshaft? I am not real good with transmission stuff so any help would be appreciated.

RE: 4 speed question again.....
What 3 speed tranny do you have? I know that all of the linkages probably will have to be changed. I'm not sure on the driveshaft, check the length of both trannies and if there the same length then it will work.

Here is a list of 3-speed transmissions that it would be from. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TorqueFlite

RE: 4 speed question again.....
If what you have is a correct E body 3 speed, Your should just need the bell.
The flywheel, clutch and pressure plate are all mated to the engine and should have 23 splines.
The four speed bell will have a slightly larger hole for the bearing cover of the trans and it won't change the clutch linkage.
Obviously, you'll need another shifter, preferably Pistol Grip.
The drive shaft should also be fine.
