Carbon. MSRP is manufactures Suggested Retail Price which is the most anyone should have to pay for a car and this price is set by the manufacture. INVOICE is the bottom line price the receiving dealer actully pays the factory for the car not counting " Hold Back". If you get a price anywhere inbetween these 2 prices on this particular car your doing good " AT THIS TIME". I ordered my 2009 R/T in May of this year and its to arrive next week I hope. I paid MSRP plus tax,dock fee, and license. It is loaded with every option but My Gig and Sunroof and its going for $35,025. Now I'm not happy with that deal but I went with it because I really want this car and this was the first dealer that would take an order and a deposit in over a year of searching dealers in NJ. Now of course there are 3 more dealers that have contacted me offering deals in the area of half way between MSRP and INVOICE but my car is almost here and I'm not losing $500 deposit. But for you don't be afraid to negotiate a better price as they are available with some leg work. So good luck to you. How do you find out what 'Invoice' is on the car?

I ordered mine at MSRP a month ago, everywhere else wanted 5-10k over so MSRP was a deal at the time.
I plopped down a $1,000 deposit that the dealer won't cash till I get a VIN I think. (so he said)
I've been stuck at BG status for 3 weeks and seeing R/T's pop up everywhere on lots now.......8(
Not the exact one I want but kind of bums me out.

If I find one with all my options I might just have to tell the dealer "The deal is off!" since someone is dragging their feet with my order.

All I can say is, good thing there are a lot of us who really wanted the new Challenger and still have brand loyaity to the Dodge nameplate. Because I know of at least a half a dozen people (and I am sure there are many more) who will never buy another Chrysler product because of the whole PT Cruiser thing when they first came out a few years back. I know because I felt the same way about Chrysler when I was going to buy one, and I was offered the car at MSRP. BUT didn't like what I over heard the dealer telling other customers in the showroom, knowing full well that they were screwing them big time...Why? Because they felt they could. And, this was from a local dealer here in Phoenix that claims "That's no bull" .....well I almost step in it....but I left and never did buy a PT (and will never deal with this dealer ever again)......Chrysler 0, Audi 1. Sounds like history has repeated itself at your local friendly Dodge dealer. It does sound like many dealers are no longer playing that game.....so shop around. And people need to be a little smarter when dealing with dealers...use your mind not your heart. (But it's hard when you really, really want it.........)

Yes, but just because I wrote, "use your mind -not your heart" doesn't mean I actually followed my own advice!
I purchased this Challenger based on pure emotion and have no regrets.......Sometimes you have to follow your heart.

I just started seriously looking at Challengers this week. Went to the local southern Utah Dodge dealer, who has a black 2008 SRT in stock. It only had one option, the 255/45 rear tires, and had a MSRP of $41 K. I actually ended up talking to the owner of the dealership himself, because we know each other, and I have purchased three vehicles from him in the past. Their asking price for the SRT Challenger was $55 K. I just about fell over when he told me they had added $15 K to the MSRP because "thats what other dealers are getting for them". I told him I would not pay one dime more than MSRP, and he only came down to $3 K over MSRP, so there was no deal made. He is going to have the car in a local parade this Saturday, and asked me to stop by and test drive it after the parade. I'll take him up on the test drive, because I'm still trying to decide between the 5.7 and the 6.1, but I think I'm going to have to either go elsewhere to purchase, or wait for the excitement of the new Challenger to wear off. Sorry, I'm not paying over MSRP.
