Question about the CAI...Is there a noticeable difference (increase) in the sound of the car under normal throttle or just when you get on it when these are installed?

rrunner,

Most CAI kits are not noticeable under normal conditions. May hear more "throatiness" under WOT...but most like that

However, I have not had experience w/ a Charger CAI system which would obviously be closest comparison.

I'm sure the best gains with a CAI is getting a tune to go with it. The new mustangs are avg about 22rwhp with a "mild street" tune and aftermarket CAI, like Steeda's CAI. This is on a 4.6... can't wait to see what it does on a 5.7/6.1

As soon as the cars hit the road the aftermarket will follow.

I have installed a Mopar CAI an both my Charger R/T and Durango 5.7 and hated them both. Both lost power and MPG's but I always felt like this was due to the MDS somehow as it seems to make the car hesitate like it was confused at times ?

Anybody else experience this ? I am hoping the Challenger will be different due to NO MDS but I'm still leary to put it on.

You need a tune with it to do it right. If you don't have a tune, even if it says it's not required... do it anyways.
