RE: 2009 Dodge Ram Preview
Now that is a lot of Bull.
DETROIT, 3:33 PM, SUN JAN 13
Detroit Auto Show: 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 Revealed Amid Crowd of Cows
Here it is folks, the crowd of cows has parted -- more on that later -- to reveal the 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup. It's a double-horned blast of new truck-love from the car company owned by Cerberus. As we've told you before the new pickup's got all sorts of horn-y hotness like the RamBox cargo management system available in the crew cab which includes a weatherproof, lockable, illuminated and drainable storage bin built into each of the bed rails -- with a total of 8.6 cubic feet of space. That's enough room to hold up to 10 cases of 12-ounce beverages -- we'll let you choose which beverage in your RamBox, but we'd choose bottles of Bell's Oberon. But there's even more drink storage locations -- like the "store in the floor" storage bins with removable liners, big enough for ten 12-ounce beverages and ice. But why are we still talking? Here's the live reveal and the official press release after the jump

RE: 2009 Dodge Ram Preview
I really think Dodge has a winner on their hands here. Though time will tell. I have seen the new F-150, with the huge 3 bar grille, and boxy headlights. I personally think the current F-150 looks better than the '09.
I predict Ram to get '09 truck of the year.

No harm meant but what's all this yaking about a truck? Where are the Production Challenger pics and specs??

In all honestly I can't spot any real changes in the new F-150 other than a new Lincoln-esque grille - guess I'll have to see a side-by-side comparison. I'm really interested in the new 2500/3500 Rams since my next Ram will have a Cummins.

With the RAM news also came the 5.7L engine new which will be in the Challenger. Talk about that until February 6.

Yankee,
The 2010 Ram 1500 is getting a V8 diesel by Cummins. No need to get a 2500/3500, unless of course you have some serious towing to do.

RE: 2009 Dodge Ram Preview
I've got a 30' 7300 lb travel trailer that I use occasionally, and my 04 Ram with the Hemi tows it fine, but it's pretty much at its max - and gets 7 MPG doing it. I've been looking to upgrade to a Cummins for awhile now but I just haven't been inspired to really take the plunge (especially at the price of diesel these days - anywhere from 30-50 cents more a gallon than gas). If and when I do get a diesel, though, I'm hoping to upgrade to a 5th wheel trailer. I dunno, we'll see - that's probably a couple of years away.
I'm still curious to see if the new Ram 2500/3500 will just be a heavier-duty version of the 1500 like the current models, or if they're gonna make a new 2500/3500 model entirely, like Ford's F-250/350 pickups are different from its F-150 pickup.
