Unless they thought ahead, and already have all the bracing and such installed.....

I think a retractable hardtop convertible would be an extremely expensive proposition (come on - it's a DODGE, not a BMW...). As long as it doesn't look like Conestoga wagon with the top up, I think a soft top will do just fine - especially considering its target market.

While I would personally never buy a ragtop Challenger, I still think Dodge would be foolish not to make one. Ford has a Mustang convertible, and Chevy is no doubt gonna offer a ragtop Camaro... it's only fitting that Dodge offer a ragtop Challenger. God knows they need a good looking convertible since Chrysler mortifyingly uglified the Sebring last year. [:'(]

True that.

Boy, did they botch one of the prettiest convertibles they ever offered with the new design.

They need to defenestrate the entire non-LX-platform design team and start over.

They could call it the Ooops-Correction design theme in the vein of the 90's "cab forward" theme.

I was considering it's target market and Chrysler already offers the Sebring as a retractable hardtop convertible which I'm pretty sure are a little cheaper then a BMW. Also, I bet with the shape and design of the roofline and the body, etc. that it would be alot easier to pull off then other cars that have had that option.
