I think the article said it would take about four years before this oil would be reached so it will take some time. The price is a contributing factor none the least. It will be interesting to see how this pans out.

If it continues to go down through the next 12 months I think thay folks on the fence will move forward. Personally, it's a second car (I'll keep my beater around for day to day) so gas price is not that impactful.

As much as I would like it to do such, it will increase again next spring. We simply need to further increase our supply.

It won't happen. I guarantee it. https://dodgechallenger.com/forums/m_6058/tm.htm No matter if you improve fuel mileage the demand will remain the same because then people drive more. Think about it. When it isn't costing you as much to drive, it doesn't seem as big a deal to go for a nice long drive on Sunday as it does when it is very expensive.
The problem is making changes in our pattern of fuel usage is very difficult. It can't be changed overnight. I'm not saying that we should look into options that could lower it, I'm just saying "don't hold your breath on that happenging."
BTW, if you would like to contribute articles about energy sources and other things, feel free to add to the "Latest Energy News" section in the Off Topic area. We could continue discussing this subject over there because we are getting a little off the topic in this post and section.

It looks like it will hit that before long. It is about $2.33 in my area and its only September. Also, my town isn't the cheapest place in MO either. They are in the middle in terms of pricing for this state.

Its all about how you market. Look at the mustang(cheap) or monte carlo(nascar) not really best fuel economy cars but they have been around for so long. If dodge does it right and sticks with it I think the challenger will be around a long while.

I agree it is partly how you market it. Now in the case of the Monte Carlo, it is a very fuel efficient car. The base model gets 31 mpg on the highway, and the SS model gets 28 mpg on the highway. The thing that helps the Mustang is the fact that it has been around for many years. It probably has one of the highest name recognition out in the market.
