What brand and type of oil to use

RE: What brand and type of oil to use
I'd say that you would be safe with any namebrand synthetic. I've always been partial to Castrol products but don't think there is really that much difference between synthetics. I run whatever synthetic is on sale in my Dak. It's too easy to over think this stuff. Just keep it changed when it should be changed. As long as you are not neglecting service intervals it shouldn't matter what you use. I run synthetics but still change at 3000 miles just because that's what the owners' manual says to do.

RE: What brand and type of oil to use
I'm getting my oil changed Friday. I talked to the service manager today and he started talking Mobil 1 and I had to remind him that it was an R/T not an SRT. So, It didn't come with synthetic. I told him I would just run the regular 5W20. I've used the regular Mopar stuff in everything else and have had good luck and always change at 3000 miles. He said he had already checked and had the right oil filter in stock. The only thing I use synthetic in is the Harley and that's because it came from the factory with it.

Dodge recommends using Mopar or Pennzoil 5W-20. Link to source: https://carfluidfinder.com/motor-oil/dodge-challenger/
