I think Dodge should come out with a HEMI head for the viper 8.0 V-10 and put it in the challenger.

hmm..that would make the price so ridiculous that it would sell worse than the viper..

It would also require a larger engine bay which adds weight and length to the car. A supercharged model would be wiser if they wanted to go 600+ hp. Also, if they were going to make a HEMI V10, they should scrap the LA/Magnum V10 and base a new one off of the new HEMI small block because the cost to build the HEMI engine line is significantly less than it was to make the LA/Magnum V8 engine line, which the Viper V10 is based off of. That is probably the real reason why they replaced the 318/360 or 5.2L/5.9L, because the crate engine 360 is not by anymeans weak (380hp & 410ft-lbs of tq). BadStratRT is correct that the price would be redicilous, and would be a bad idea to pursue. No offense AwsomeSpeed, but it just wouldn't work.

if it is 425hp as placed in the other SRT8 vehicles, i see no reason why you couldnt tickle the 600hp range NA...

first, get the cats off, and get a nice set of headers...i am not familair enough with that intake manifold to know what could be done with it, but figure a bigger TB, and better cam, as well as some sort of computer timing advance, or "chip"...seeing as how in the charger/300c, the 6.1 has dyno'ed to mid 400 range at the crank, 500 should be fairly simple, unless they squeezed everything that they could out of this, which i doubt.

Add 8psi of boost, intercool it and you're at 600hp for sure. I've started discussing the possibility with the best SC shop I know of. PSE in CA.

How about one of the HEMI crate engines? Like the 528 or 540 supercharged HEMI![sm=gears.gif] That would be fun having +900hp, if it would fit!

eh...forced induction on a factory NA car is only breeding greed..."8psi is fine on stock internals"...then it isnt anymore...that the engine becomes a paper weight...
