Default bad ignition switch??

Hey all, quick question. On my '73 Challenger was having a problem of what initially appeared to be heat soak. I checked (and replaced) the starter, solenoid. Battery tests good, as does the altenator. I'm able to start the car by jumping the solenoid, and it fires right up, so I put in a push button starter for now. Has anyone had an experience like this, and if it's the ignition switch, how hard is it to change out? Thanks for the help!!

Switch is not too bad to change out. I bought one and took the steering column apart only to find I needed to tighten the screws. After the tightening, the switch worked like new. Good luck and let us know how it turns out.

Turns out it was the neutral safety switch. Got it changed out this morning, car is starting great! Thanks for the advice, 4406!
