Ok, then it goes back to using parts from the available parts bin for the Chargers and 300's (or as some put it, the cheapness factor) , where there is a back door and no need for the front seat to flip forward. GTO's have the same problem with their power seats.

I'm not buying the safety issue. THINK about this, people - if that was really the case, then the rear driver's door on 4-door cars wouldn't open at all and minivans would get rid of their driver's side sliding doors too - NO door on the driver's side other than the driver's would be operational. So much for the "safety issue" argument.
Nope, it's a cheapness issue. Pure and simple.

I'm not sure what the big deal is here? If you have rear seat passengers they get in on the passenger side of the car. Let's face it, it isn't exactly your typical family car anyway. I think this is a flaw that I can personally deal with when the time comes.

The bet real reason is the engineer that was to do the release took an early buyout. I think there will be more and more of this type of thing happening as staff is eliminated and not replaced. Wonder how many still work in QC (If there still is a QC dept).
