I have read that it could be Spring or Fall of 2007 so basically a year to 18 months from now.
Hopefully, their marketing team will do it justice in coming out with several variations for all to enjoy.

It is probabal that they will only come out with a V6 and one V8 to start, test the waters so to speak. Then later if demand is high enough, more engne opitions and a convertable.

Of course that is right. It's a business. DCX is in it for the money. No more, no less.
Of course that is right. It's a business. DCX is in it for the money. No more, no less.
IF... Dodge is truly in the business to make as much money as possible as you say, overall speaking,....
Then it would be far much smarter and profitable to produce/sale at competative prices a larger volume(multi-variant models=baseV6, base5.7-V8, limitted 6.1-V8 & 6.4-V8) of Challengers, say 75,000-100,000+ units with a $1500/$2000 to $3500 per unit profit margin with a model specificvery competative MSRP pricing schedule,....
THAN to build only 10,000-15,000 units with a $5000-$7000 profit per unit margin, of a less MSRP price competative, limitted volumed/limitted variant model( 6.1-v8 only,).....
THAT is simple ECONOMICS and MARKETTING 101....
That's why IF... Dodge goes the limitted productioned higher MSRP route on the marketing of the Challenger, then Dodge may very well turn A LOT of people away, just like like myself who want a Challenger badly but due to a limitted model scope marketing strategy with lower production, that will guarantee a much higher MSRP for the Challenger causing us as potiential buyers to NOT to be able to afford a $35,000-$45,000 limitted production & variant Challenger.... []
Dodge in that case WILL LOOSE many potential buyers and MOPAR loyalist to companies like FORD with its much affordable $25,000 basic optioned V8 Mustang-GT...
In turn that would possibly put the whole Challenger concept in jeapordy to falling flat on it's face just like some of the same things did in rendering the same lack luster fate of the recent GTO with its limitted model availability and MUCH higher MSRP pricing than a more competative 2+2 musclecar should have like the base MUSTANG-GT... [&o]
THAT would truly be a very sad thing to happen to such a beautiful car as the Challenger...[]

RE: 2007 CHALLENGER?
Lets keep calm heads here now. I'll post my last post on this string with this statement. A very close friend of mine who works for DCX in a middle management capacity. I asked him flat,
"Is is remotely possible that DCX will make available the Hemi Challenger, should it go to production, for less then 30K?" His response, off the record of course, NO!!!
I'm not mad either but I been around a few years and have always owned new cars and I think I know how this is going to come down. I hope everyone here can be the proud owner of a new Hemi Challenger but the reality of it is, it's not going to happen.
Best of luck in your quest to own the new Challenger and maybe one day we can all meet at a 2nd Generation Challenger Reunion.

Don't take this as an insult, Paladin06, but I bet your middle management friend has very little say so when it comes to how DCX will be pricing anything. Now, having said that, I would agree with his SPECULATION. I would think the best we could expect for is a Hemi in the low 30's. High 20's would make a lot of folks happy, however. If only they could get the 5.7 liter version into the high 20's and the 6.1 into the low 30's. We can all hope. I know I am.

I totally agree but he is closer to the source then any of us. I think we will just have to wait and see. I sure hope it's priced so everyone here who really wants one can get one.
Call me foolish, call it mid-life crisis, call it the nest is almost empty, call it whatever you like but unless it's priced >45K, I'm going to put one in my driveway.
The last timed I wanted something this bad I married her. 19 years ago.
