Chris, I agree with Cuda340. Most people on this forum will be getting the 2009 or even 2010 for basically 2 reasons.
Lack of availability and cost and yeah and some of us just do not want to pay over MSRP even if we could afford it.
I suspect that several of us may be getting a 2009 model for next Christmas and I may be one of them.

Man with the 09 and 10's so close together I am going to have to see what I can get the better deal on
(we were looking at Aug. buy) but now if the 10's opptions are out by then just may end up with a '10. [8D] maybe even a Cuda instead of a Chally.

I'd like to see a normal early September new model roll out. So the 08's come in only one trim, I'm OK with the top dog SRT8 in limited numbers to satisfy the hard core. I like the three trims in 09 to fill the rest of the void. What I really want is a 6.4L SRT8 replacing the 6.1 in '10. That's the one I'm looking for. It needs to have 2-3 unique SRT8 colors and I don't mean the cartoon colors. Give me something classy, bold, and beautiful. I'd like to see a drag version come out as well that comes basically street ready, but stripped of the heavy options. No A/C, side airbags, radio, sunroof, power-heated seats, etc. Just a clean simple stripped down car for the serious gear head. Should be a special order only.
I plan on going with the R/T version in HEMI Orange Pearl Coat (if Plum Crazy Purple isn't an option in `09). The only "option" I'll be getting will be the performance tires for an extra $50 bucks . No sunroof, no MYGIG Multimedia Infotainment System W/Navigation action, thank you very much.

Our "Challenger Fund" grows every day. The bigger it gets, the smaller/fewer the payments will be.

Thats why I like the 08, I get to enjoy it for the whole summer!
Got a call from my dealer last night. Not sure how much is absolute truth but here is what I was told... They are expecting 4 2008 SRT8's, having placed 12 orders to date. They think the 2008's are going to start shipping very shortly after the unveiling Feb 6th, thinking Dodge has likely already started production and are holding them until the event. And the kicker... they told me that Dodge is planning only the SXT (v-6?) and R/T (5.7?) versions for the 2009 model year run, and will not produce any more SRT8's until the 2010 model year. Like I said, can't confirm the legitimacy of the information, but thought I would pass it on. Maybe the Dodge boys plan on holding out on the SRT8's until they have readied the 6.4 Hemi (6.5? 6.6?) for production? Again, I cannot substantiate this information, I am only passing on what I was told by a dealer... Cheers...
