RE: 2009 SE on dealer lot here
What makes you think the Camaro SS will be a hard car too find???
dodge made 6000 somewhat 08 challengers(to me thats not limited at all}
And Dodge will be making as many as Ford Mustangs.(with their 2009s}
GM lost 15 Billion dollars and will not make a profit in 2009.
GM will make as many Camaro SS as they can.The market will be flooded.
As for the price you will be able to find a Camaro SS at Invoice or maybe $500 over
depends on how hard you want to deal with the dealers.
You will see many 2009 Challengers on the road in the next few months
They will be as common as the Mustang....
If you want a car that is a bit more rare then get a Viper,Z06 or even a lambo.
Otherwise all these cars in the market will be very common...................Earl

Errr. . . The camaro is a much more popular name with a lot more publicity than the challenger. If people are paying 10-20k markup on challengers it will be the same for the camaro in the first few months.
The challenger will not be as commons as the mustang... Rediculous. So many things wrong with that statement I dont know where to start but Ill try.
The mustang has been sold consistantly from 1965 to 2009. As for just the new model mustangs, around 160,000 were produced just for the 2005 model year. Dodge has made around 7000 for the 2008 model year. They're looking at producing around 50,000 for 2009. The challenger is being introduced in a market of $4 gas. The mustang was sold for 4 years with $2 gas.
The only car that even has a shot at being as common as the mustang is the camaro. I would be surprised if they sell half as many camaros as they do mustangs. And I will be surprised if they sell half as many challengers as they do camaros.
But hey if you have that much faith in the challenger then more power to dodge

I agree that there will be many more camaros than challengers on the street after 2009. In my opinion the popularity of the camaro will triple that of the challenger. I think there are too many factors to list but a few are: perceived poor quality of the dodge brand, GM enjoys a very loyal customer base, the interior of the camaro will be better, and fuel economy will be better. Additionally, the camaro name will be more recognizable to younger buyers in their twenties and thirties. The camaro was around in the nineties and the challenger has not been seen since the early seventies. I don't count the eighties version. I love the challenger and I hope to get one before they stop being produced but the camaro will be much more popular.

Not saying that the Camaro will out sell the Mustang
Lets say the Mustangs did make 160,000
Lets asume the Camaros will make 100,000 - 120,00 Plus(GM might make more since they are losing so much money}
I am sure Dodge will make at least 60,000-80,000 and more if they can.....
So as I said before you will see as many 2010 Camaros as 2010 mustangs on the road
And I am sure you will not see as many challengers but you will see them out there very offen.
The challenger will be around for awhile just like the Charger.
So I am sure within the next year or two,the Challenger will be a very common car on the road......
When I bought my 2006 Stang Gt at invoice,,,at that time the Mustang Gt was rare to find but
there were many V6s on the road at that time....(laborday 2005}
Now 2 years later,you find Mustang Gts everywhere.So I am bored with it and will buy a 2009 Challenger Rt.
So expect to see lots of Camaros and Challengers and Mustangs on the road with in the next 2 years.

Are the SE fully loaded? When I built a SE on the Dodge website I get an MSRP of $28-$29K, so $24-$25K aint bad. If it is fully loaded.

RE: 2009 SE on dealer lot here
In my opinion we will not see that many 2010 or later mustangs, challengers, or camaros. Most people want a four door and gas prices have people flocking to 4 cylinder engines. I believe gas prices will go down in the short term but will surpass 4 per gallon by this time next year. If this happens it could be a very short life for the challenger and camaro programs. The resale value of these cars will be horrible and that will discourage even more buyers. If I had to have one of these muscle cars, I would be in a hurry. The "next muscle car era" will be over quicker than most people think. Just my opinion.

You hit the nail on the head.............
You can never say oil prices will not be at $150.00 a barrel by years end.
Who knows if Iran hits a super tanker with a missle in oct and that will take the Barrel over $150 in one day.
