RE: Anyone have an '09 VIN yet?
Thanks for the info Venthos and Mopar2ya. I didn't know anthing about the Mid-June time frame. I have placed my order for an SRT, but I don't have the VON yet either. I only have my order number from the AAFES dealer. I think I'll try calling the 800 number to see if Dodge actually has recieved my order. The AAFES dealer here is a good guy, but he is about as uninformed as I am. He jokes that if he gets another person looking to order a Challenger, he'll let me do the sales pitch.

I'm assuming that was a typo on his part. Currently Chrysler has a $2.99 gas card promotion going on. Details here:
http://www.dodge.com/en/refuel/
Problem, though, is that ALL Challengers are excluded - this means SE, R/T, and SRT8 are a no-go for the promotion.

OK, Budman, here's a question for your factory contacts: Are there any plans now to build Challengers for the rental-car market? I'm serious about getting two Challengers, and I'd be more than pleased if I could buy one new one and one used by a rental-car company (in other words, semi-cheap). Actually, most of my cars have been used rental cars and I've always had pretty good luck with them.

You should not have any trouble getting a SE and one of the new 3.99 gas cards they will be offering with it.

I do know the answer to this but my factory buddies would have no idea. They are building 6 Cyl challengers for rental cars. As you know allot of people travel for work and they rent cars. The auto industry makes very good deals with rental car companies because it is a TEST DRIVE for the manufacture. The Charger is considered a full size with most rental car company's and it was very popular. I would think that the Challenger will be placed in the Standard size group with the Mustang and SS. And there will be 1,000's of them out there. The rental car co's will use this as an upgrade and it will give them a higher profit margin in tough time's so they will be beating the door down to get them.

It doesn't cover any SRT vehicles. Considering the SRT8 is the only challenger that will be out during the promotion that is why it will not be included. Also new models never have any kind of rebates or other incentives because they don't need to give them out to make sales.
