Default ESP or Engine issue

This afternoon, i got on the gas and the engine like shut-off then came back on., never spun a tire, road was damp. Is this the engine portion of ESP? About 20 minutes later I was running around 35mph accellerated hard and its like the engine shuts down. Has anyone else had an issue like this?

actually...had the same problem...I had an 06 charger...you hold the esp longer for a better effect...the esp light will blink twice...not on the new chally....if you hold it too long...as I myself did...you'll end up lookin like an ass when your car doesn't do that burn out your expecting. Don't hold the esp button too long...let go once you see the esp light come on...your good to go!

I HATE THE ESP. I wondered why sometimes the car would not do a burnout. I must have held it too long.
Here's one that went well.

Nice! I tell you...the esp was great on my charger which was what I drove year round...that thing was a tank in the snow and rain...until you hit the esp button...it is a total waste on the chally in my opinion...if I see one(an 08srt) in the snow...someone hold me from smacking that sob!

Yet one more plus for the Diablo tuner.... You can shut ESP off.

In the challenger a quick touch of the ESP button and its only partly disabled. To turn all the way off you need to hold it until the car gives you a chime, or ding. It takes about 7-8 seconds, but then you see why you keep it on most the time :-)

Andre, I think you know ESP can only be partially disabled. You can push that button all you want but ESP still lurks. Dodge's ingenious idea to keep an open rear end from spinning one wheel is to brake the faster one until the other catches up. If it could be disabled, you could do a true burnout without the stupid brake torque.
