Default RE: Exhaust

The sound with Flowmasters and no rear resonators reminds me alot of the Fox-chassis 5.0 liter Mustangs. Kind of a hollow sound, but I love that sound. Classic Flowmaster sound. Can't wait for the weather to clear so I can drive it!

10 sec dodge

I have a 6 Speed with the canisters, not the suitcase. How do you think it will sound compared to the flowmasters if I remove the resonators?

Novawagonmaster can probably answer this better than I. He just made mods to the 6 speed exhaust. However my opinion is...you should give it a try. From what I have seen and read, the 6 speeds have a much better muffler. On challengertalk they have a picture of the suitcase muffler cut open....it is horrible. So you are one step ahead of us auto guys with your stock mufflers.

Default RE: Exhaust

Stock 6-speed mufflers are a straight through design. At fitrst, I replaced those with Flowmasters and left the rear resonators in place. The sound was not much different at all. Same tone, same volume. Then I cut the rear resonators off. WOO-HOO! That did it!

If I was to do it again, I would remove the rear resonators FIRST and see what the stock front mufflers sound like. I would be willing to bet it would be even louder then the Flowmasters because the Flowmasters have all those internal baffles inside to redirect the flow. As I said before, the stock mufflers are straight through...no baffles.
