It looks to me like it is REAL RAM air.... I thought I remember reading a posting on this forum that the louvers on the hood were just decoration...but from the pic you posted it looks as though the hood has tunnels in it and the air filter fits right into the hood...any thoughts?

 

on the concept, they are fully functional..i was trying to get a good picture that showed it, but they didnt come out well

i took a similar picture, but i was trying to reach up far enough to get a shot down into the cavity...but to no avail..with the flash there was too much glare, and without, you couldnt really see much.

 

Thanks guys...hopefully they have the same functionality for the production version.

 

I am not sure if you had a chance to try it but some of the new digital cameras do real well without flash
and that sometimes works if there is too much glare coming back.

Interesting to note how they have the butterfly valves underneath. They are covered with panels that came be easily removed.

Is that to reduce manufacturing cost......more metal but less labor intervention?

Maybe this is to make it more flexible in configuring it differently in the future. I wonder?
