Ill bet money that this is the biggest and one of the last hemi anyone will ever see. Just wait its a 80s remake with all the 4 bangers' running around with their 50MPG! The car industry will probibly have a hard time producing cars worth a crap to me unless oil prices go down!

I think you are on the right track, They (Dodge), will always come out with new thing right after the first run, I know that for fact, I bought a Magnum Feb 05, and the SRT8 model came out right after that year, now I have like at least three Magnum SRT8s running around in my own town, Im like, Man! But then again that might work out as a good thing after all, because the urge to get one of the first ones was really strong and I would have had a deposit on one and been waiting for another Automatic car! whooohooo.....
Im hoping to get one in the future with a 6 speed, and a color that I hope they offer!
I look at it this way, This first year is really much of a test run, For the buyers who really care about having the first run, so be it, But I bet all that goes spinning down the toilet when someone has had more color and transmission options, let alone if the 6.4 comes in for 2010!!!
Just think how a first run owners going to feel when you pull up beside in one that you chose the color and transmission And a bigger Hemi! Priceless!
Don't beat yourself up, I think you did the right thing, Im hoping more buyers will do the same after the R/Ts are revealed in March, (It might help put an end to this gouging &^$*) which is really bad in my area...

It is a standing rumor that the 6.4 may be coming into production, I'm not starting it, I just repeated it..
Opinions are like toothbrushes, everyone has one, and they need not to be shared..
So I guess I will keep mine to myself from now on....
And maybe you can do the same. It's really insulting to quote someones entire post and sound so negative.
If oil prices bother you so much, maybe you shouldn't be looking into a Challenger...
There's always public transportation, use it...

lol you guys took that way wrong all im saying is that with all the new regulations people probibly wont be seeing larger V8 engines... Plus they are suppose to get rid of the hemi and replace it with the pheonix engine.

It's Ok, I took it all wrong,
The way I see it is the government just wants your money anyways, they just want to make you feel that you are getting something that you shouldn't, just look at the Gas Guzzeler Tax, If these cars were really something bad, It would be not available period. But they just slap a big tax on it and your good...
If you look at the big picture at all this environmental crusade it all pretty much revolves around something that can be taxed, I know it will effect the outcome of cars of the future, but I think that we will have at least a few more years of the Hemi.
BTW the Pheonix is slated to replace the currant 6 cyl for now, not every engine,
Could you see someone trying to pull a fifth wheel trailer with a six banger pickup?

Thanks for all the feedback on my decision and think I'll be very happy with an 09 or even an 10. I started having second thoughts when they changes the production quantity. I'm not looking for an every day driver but I don't want a garage queen either. The real winner was my Daughter. I bought a 2008 Caliper for her to drive wile I wait on the 09. The concept / drawing of the blue 1971 / 1972 Roadrunner looking concept also made me think about the other neat things they might pull out their hat in the future. The concept looked a lot like my 1972 runner

Ah I was assuming they where getting rid of the V8 in the cars... maybe im wrong but dont get me wrong I love the large engines, its like America
