I know the challenger srt-8 won't, but what about the R/T. Now that chrysler has announced this lifetime powertrain warranty I have become extremely exited. I am shotting for an R/T and am very curious if these new 08 Challenger R/T's will have this new offering.

What do you guys think?

And how long do you think this lifetime warranty on new owners for powertrain will last? I bet ford and GM will eventualy offer the same kind of warranty if chrysler keeps it

 

As long as it's not an SRT model I don't see why a regular Challenger R/T wouldn't have the warranty. And since Ford and GM started the warranty war and Chrysler just responded, I don't see the lifetime warranty deal going away anytime soon.

 

I will have to look up more on this, but this might just be a short term incentive to get some models moving.

 

i agree, that it will be a short term thing...to boost sales through the summer, probably stemming from GM recent claims of earnings.

also, i would be that if it does last until the challenger comes out, it will exclude the challenger if it comes with the 6.1, considering that the other 6.1L cars are excluded.

 

Let alone any potential 6.4L models IF they ever make one.
