I just have to comment on this "running scared" accusation about 'Stang owners. I am an '05 Mustang GT owner who loves his car. However, I believe this Challenger will look beautiful sitting next to it in my garage. I really feel these cars can sit side by side without any problems. I am not a Ford guy or a Dodge guy, I just love fast and beautiful cars!!! I think most of you do too. I really am psyched about this car and ready to add it to my collection!

Well we are glad to have you here. We pretty much like fast cars that look fast.

In reply to Chubbs: No offense to you but I think that Pontiac will be kicking themselves for the look of this GTO in a couple years when they see how well the Challenger sells (&the Mustang for that matter). They could have designed something more retro (as DCX and Ford did) and come away with a real solid machine. I cannot see anyone looking at today's GTO in 30 years and getting excited about it. I think that this new Challenger (if it stays close to the concept version) will be something that people look back on and smile broadly. It's too bad that Pontiac missed an opportunity to do a classic muscle car right...I am sure it is comfortable and has some power but just look at it...what a shame.

There have been reports of a new gto being reproduced on the camaro platform that will have a more gto-esque look

I think a new GTO would be sweet... If they follow the lead on the Mustang and Challenger retro feel I'll bet on a nice ride. Wonder if anyone has Photoshopped anything

From what I have heard in rumors, it will be more retro styled.

I think they are going introduce them at a similar time. I just am a little skeptical of the GTO formula working. They need to work on their marketing. I just don't know if the segment the GTO is in is the class to compete in. I know that the Firebird is not supposed to come back but I still think that would be a better idea than the GTO.

is there any backup to that claim about it being the best handling?

Well, here is another reason I believe the Porsche Cayman is still the best handling car for under $100K.

Well, while the Cayman was a tied finalist according to Motor Trend the car of the year for 2007 was the Toyota Camry.

I saw that. It amazes me that a car whose styling went down from the previous model, and the transmission was so bad they had to recall it, but then it wins the competition because of its birth right as being the Toyota Camry.
