I currently own the '05 LS2 GTO and it is an awesome car to drive and ride in. I am a MOPAR guy though. I wanted to buy the new Charger but was extremely disappointed that it was more of a family sedan than a muscle car. The GTO's styling was a turn off, but with it's hood scoops, dual exhaust, and great interior it's actually a pretty sharp car. Plus you don't see them very often (which may be a bad thing for Pontiac) but I like having a unique ride. When considering that the old GTO's where a subtle change from the LeMans, it isn't completely inappropriate that the current one is a subtle change from the Grand Prix, but it could look a little sexier as the Firebird did.
That being said, this Challenger appears to be exactly what I've been waiting for since I was a child. A new MOPAR muscle car!!!! If they make it exactly like the concept (which I realize they probably won't), I would not hesitate to buy one right away.
I plan to trade in my GTO the second the Challenger actually becomes a reality (which I will believe when I see it, as the previous Charger concept went away just prior to it's release).

In reply to Chubbs: No offense to you but I think that Pontiac will be kicking themselves for the look of this GTO in a couple years when they see how well the Challenger sells (&the Mustang for that matter). They could have designed something more retro (as DCX and Ford did) and come away with a real solid machine. I cannot see anyone looking at today's GTO in 30 years and getting excited about it. I think that this new Challenger (if it stays close to the concept version) will be something that people look back on and smile broadly. It's too bad that Pontiac missed an opportunity to do a classic muscle car right...I am sure it is comfortable and has some power but just look at it...what a shame.

You are right, as it just looks like another car on the street.
