I did a quick calculation on based on 1K miles a month 14 vs 17mpg means about an extra 12.5 gallons of fuel burned At $5 a gallon that's $60+ difference per month enough to have an impact on someone's budget

Sorry for the multiple posts, it took about a million tries and splitting it up and cutting it down to get it to let me post at all

I'm not surprised at the Viper mileage. Of course its better-its got a 6 spped transmission. 08 Chally only got 5 speeds.

Thats why the gas guzzler tax is less on the 09s, because of the 6 speed tranny. More gears equals better fuel economy.

i tried to post last night.... But I love burn-out gasms.. and I think 60plus dollars would effect just about anyone's budget... I mean unless your making in the 60k range but anyway... Im a smart shopper and look for this stuff routinly... Someone posted the link to DUKE universtity that showed a study on this exact kind of thing. I might be sounding a little silly for saying this but some of you fellas that rip people for just bringing up the gas issue...well seem a little paranoid... but maybe that's just me... Vette's get 18mpg and Goat's get 16mpg's now if your looking for good fast V-8's which one can save you money???? There is logic to this so just have an exorbant amount of money good for you. Im in a 4x4 single cab Hemi I get 16mpg on avg. If I just move from a truck to a car I can save as little as 1,000 a year or maybe more. AND GO FASTER

After 200 miles, I am averaging 14.8 mpg. Most of these miles are city. The next 200 miles should be mostly highway. I will report back.

Pick your car like they load a plane with a Challenger being much more economical by getting 15 MPG times 5 occupants gets you 75 miles traversed on a gallon of gas while a Viper gets 16 MPG times 2 occupants only gets you 32 miles traversed per gallon of gas - I'm ready to justify a bus and forget about cool, maybe i'll soften the blow to coolness with a short bus. Justify it how you see fit.

Who care's about how many it seats??? Serioulsy this selling point is ridiculous to me... just as gas is ridiculous to others. Whatever. I want a 5 sec. car to 60 that doesn't cost 200 hundred dollars a month to drive. Plenty of Vette's out there that do that. If you put wings on it and a S/C you could prolly fly and have your jet too

Wow, I never expected that asking what MPG people are getting would lead to such an opinionated discussion. Thanks Choodock for replying with your MPG. And thanks to everyone else that agrees that asking this question does not automatically imply that I cannot afford the car or should be choosing another.
