ORIGINAL: choodock

After 200 miles, I am averaging 14.8 mpg. Most of these miles are city. The next 200 miles should be mostly highway. I will report back.

After 250 miles and 50 being highway, I am up to 15.3 mpg. This car is amazing.

Wow, at this rate you should be up to 64.8 MPG by he time the car has 5000 miles on it!! Nice!!

I am at a loss how someone is posting MPG when they have only gone 250 miles. The only true way to calculate is when you fill up. Therefore, if you have two calculations and have filled up twice, that would be 125 miles per tank divided by?......LOL

C mon I know you are using the onboard computer, but we all know the cars computer is notoriously inacurrate.

I think this is a great question, just as valid as.... What do you think of the steering wheel? Lay off those who need to pick this question apart!

Please those that have filled up and done the math....please post here.

Okay, checked the onboard computer on my 2006 Charger RT. It says my average mpg since purchase, yes I never use it and dont reset it, is 15.7 mpg. I check my mileage every fill up and my lowest ever was 17.94 mpg, highest evr was around 23.5 mpg, and I would say my average is around 19 mpg. Therefore, we can see the computer is over 3 mpg off. Lets wait and see what the actual figures are. I am very capable of paying for gas, but this is something I look at all the time. So again, if you have actual miles per tank or something please let us know.

Thanx,

dave

Yeah your so right Dave... but most of these guys have only filled it up once. My Hemi Ram 03' gets 16 all around I reset it not more than a few month's ago it was getting about 15mpg's before the first four years. Now in the last several months it's gotten 16 or 16.1mpg's. I've almost tried to see if I could get to 17. Don't think it will happen Looking forward to seeing what they are getting when there broken in.

man mrkissullivan i have a 05 quad cab hemi 1500 and it gets only 12 i guess the extra weight and dual exhaust i put on it doesnt help. my point about 14 vs 17 was that the overall savings wouldnt push most people over the edge budget wise. but for some yes it would.

I think instead of Miles Per Gallon why don’t we try another approach…# of fill ups per rear tires…FPT! I am hoping to get at least 15 tanks per set!

I am averaging 16L per 100k (about 16miles per gallon) just like the tag says, mostly city (suburban) stop and go (and I mean go), I have gotten it down to 10.4 on the highway at 80k (50mph) 25mpg

Hey kevin have your reset the computer yet??? the first couple years I had the truck it was getting like 13-14... I know I don't run it like i used to but I still stomp the beast every now and then. I've got Flowmasters on mine too. I think they gave me at least a half mile to the gallon better gas. But i did strap them on only a few months after i had the truck so I really don't know. But right now it says 16mpg all around. I'll reset it tommorow but im pretty sure somewhere in the 16's is the best you can get with just the exhaust done.

I made a trip yesterday from my house to Columbus, Ohio and got 22.8 MPG according to the cars system with the cruise set between 65-70 the whole way.
