Was wondering how long it would take for dodgeman's photo's to hit the web...

I guess this answers that.

I do not know how somebody found that one because you cannot find it by going to that home page. It is like you have to know it is there.

I have seen Torred chargers and magnums and it is about as red as red can get. I haven't seen hemi orange in person though but in "good" pictures of it it's clear that it's a much different color. There's pics of the challenger floating around the web though that make it look very redish. I assume it's just the lighting.

The "Hemi Orange" used on the concept is a "pearlcoat" paint. It changes hues depending on the direction and intensity of the light hitting it. DuPont makes "Chromalusion" paint which does something very similar, but more extreme. A car painted Chromalusion Gold can appear any color from purple to brown, depending on the lighting. A more mild effect is achieved with pearlcoat, so the Hemi Orange could appear anywhere from Bronze to Orange to almost Yellow - and anything in between depending on the angle it's viewed from.

BTW- Pearlcoat paints are available at a "premium charge". You'll notice that in the "Build my own" option on Dodge's website.
Did I mention DuPont's "Chromalusion" paint costs (last time I looked) around $2,500.00 a gallon?

I am certainly in the wrong business.

Did you see the ZR-1 at Barret Jackson? They said that blue metallic was 60,000.00 per gallon. Looked good, but not that good...Lol.

I DID see the car, but honestly didn't notice anything about the paint job. Then again, I was awaiting the Challenger and was just counting down to lot #1331 as the cars passed. SpeedVision didn't broadcast it in HD (at least not in these parts) and frankly, without that, I probably wouldn't have noticed anything about the paint. It just looked "blue" here.

Now the Deusenberg Phaeton J that went for a cool Mill DID catch my attention. That was beautiful!
