This scoop looks and sounds like it could be a rusty spot in the future.

 

From what I've seen the concept Butterfly valves unfortunately bit the dust. The current set up appears to be simply "heat extractors" really, by channeling outside air into the engine compartment, but as said earlier, no "ram air effect". The openings on Chargers aim towards the exhaust manifolds/valvecovers, not any induction sources, so weather would have no impact.

I frankly wished they would have kept the concept set up and even used cable (driver operated) mechanism. Just like opening your Air Grabber system on your Road runner, GTX or SuperBee back in the day...
