Default Test drove an R/T 6-speed DWB, will order this week

I went to a local dealer on Saturday to see the DWB in person. The car is an R/T 6 speed just like I want, but it's fully loaded (which I don't want). Anyway, the salesman offered me a test drive, and I just could not say no. The car had 35km on it when I got in.

The 6 speed is awesome. Nice shifting, even without using the clutch (hey, the salesperson insisted I try clutchless shifts). The gears are all where they should be, and the RPMs are easy to predict. At many of the intersections I simply took off in second gear, and the car has plenty of grunt to do that effortlessly. I tried my best to feel the skip-shift, but couldn't get it to trigger.

Rear visibility isn't that bad I think it's par for a coupe with some stylish lines. I'm used to relying on the side mirrors for blind spots.

After a few minutes, the salesman (riding in the back) said, "let's turn right up here and you'll have a straight stretch to open it up." The car's acceleration was great, but not awesome. It pins you back and gives you a grin, but it was missing a little 'umpth'. I blame the extra 2 people with me (wife and salesperson), the cheap gas in the car, the fact that it only has 35km and I was shifting like my grandmother.

The ride is great. The car is so tight and responsive, yet smooth and refined.

After seeing it in person, there's no doubt that DWB is my favourite colour. Stunning.

The salesperson was great; he didn't push to sell me the car that he has on the lot; after telling him it's not the car I wanted (I don't want it fully loaded) we went to see the sales manager, and he priced me a to-order car for $1100 under MSRP. All I want is R/T 6-speed DWB with the Sound Group II. What a great experience.

I'll stop by this week and actually place the order. What an awesome car.

OK, I'm drawing a blank. What is DWB?

I didn't know you could shift without the clutch. Neat.

You're not really supposed to but this unit is quite tight, so if you can 'predict' what the RPM should be in the next gear and firmly push it in at that RPM, it should go in without a fuss.

I wouldn't drive clutchless on a regular basis though.

I am not familiar with this 6 speed, but speed shifting destroys synchronizers. When you start to grind and have trouble shifting normal, synchronizers are the problem.
