What about the first statements from dodge was they weren't building any 09 orange srts. Now they say we are listening to what you want & hemi orange is available noiw for the 09's, were we misled or what?

Hemi-orange, the carbon-fiber hood strip and the dash plaque were all intended to make the 2008 Challenger unique (and sell foir big $$$). Two things happened to extend the color to the 2009 SRTs- lobbying by Bob Frederick (redletterdodge.com) and disappointed buyers who could not get a 2008. Rather than lose these potential 2009 sales, the color was extended. That being said, Hemi-orange will disappear as a color option half-way or less through the 2009 model run.

My advise for this car is just wait until the cars hit the lots. My bet is that high gas prices and rotten economy is going to reduce the number of potential customers. This being said it will be more of a buyers market. That is my 2 cents worth.
I also ordered a production slot, preorder w/milatary sales, and was shocked at the price. The markup, in my humble opinion, is due to equipment that was standard on the 08 are now options for the 09 i.e. 13 Kicker audio system, option package 1-3. There's 7 yr warrantey(est $2K), overseas delivery $700, $800 manual tranny etc. I added all the "new options" it comes up to $3400; $5400 with the extended warranty. The price may be lower because they don't have the official pricing and order software. However, I am expecting to pay around mid to upper 40's. It does make me sick a little thinking I can get two 2007 R/T Charger for around $21K. But, I am a firm believer to either go really cheap or get what makes you happy the first time.
