Surprised the heck outta me too... dealer told me and I thought it seemed awful high, but I was able to get a customer service rep to look it up for me. She gave me exact figures as of December 2006 which were the latest available at the time, and said that due to market changes it would be in the neighborhood of the figures quoted above. She was the one that also told me there was no breakdown for Dodge, Chrysler, and Jeep seperately because of the way dealerships were set up and accounted for.

This is why, when I hear dealers who say they have 10 or 20 Challengers allocated I call "shenanigans" (or something like that).

I noticed that the controls were in English. I thought the cars were being built in Canada, Ehh?

For all you guys complaining, I just wanted to let you know that I put 1500 miles on my 2008 Challenger this weekend and it drives great and it will be all you expect and then some.

(not really, just practicing for when my car does arrive)

Bob Frederick posted on redletterdodge that 2009 pricing will likely get released in early- mid June.

He also stated that the 6-speed Tremec TR6060 manual transmission (with Trak Pak) will be extra-cost option.

Early to mid-June? Probably the day after the '08s get shipped out.

Your paying for that expensive Viper trans.

One bonus is that the gas guzzler tax may be only $1,300 for the 6-speed instead of $1,700 for the automatic. Dodge increased the mileage slightly with both transmissions by improved engine breathing.

I think I saw somewhere the 6060 6 speed is a 700+ uplift over the auto. Just about right for the amount of enjoyment it will bring.
