Greg is correct, that tracking software on the Dodge.com site was set up only for 2008
SRT8 cars, because some have been waiting over 18 months for word about the car.
The only way to know when a VIN is assigned would be on DealerConnect but it is a
secure site available only to dealers. Salesmen do not normally have the login and
password because access means I could order cars, cancel orders, change colors and
equipment etc....the owner wouldn't think it was funny if 30 green Journeys showed
up. You see what I mean. I have the managers login because he got tired of me asking
him twice a day about the Challengers I have coming, and he trusts me. When you check
with your salesman, and he claims not to know anything, he is probably telling the truth.
With all of my cars I checked them twice a day until they went from C to D status and
got VINs. So if yours salesperson can convince the manager to look at your car every
day for the next 30 days, you'd be in good shape...

Contact your Dealer, ask for a copy of the invoice with VIN
when the car went to D status (faxed if possible).
See if your name and address are on the invoice...
Don't freak out, this is showing as NOT a sold unit.
Probably just a typo, but needs to be checked on.

Challengersales01, thanks so much for the speedy reply and it told me a lot except how long in your opinion after the dealer has a signed order, placed that order with Dodge , got a confirmation from Dodge that the order is accepted with a VON number dop you think they would have a VIN number?? I just don't want to become a pest to my dealer which I currently have a very good relationship with. You might need this to check anything or does a VON number mean nothing? This is my VON #21968653If you just give me your opinion as to when I should expect a VIN number I will not bother you again .....for awhile...LOL...Thanks again FATCAT

Just got back from going to look at the Challenger at the dealership, but it wasn't at the dealership. The guy who bought it said he changed his mind and wanted his car now! Well after riding around town for awhile it didn't take long to find. This is a beautiful car and the wait is worth it! This car's sister is supposed to be here in two weeks, I sure hope so.
