Paladin,
What date did vv give for your car to be delivered to dealer? I'm behind you in the whole production, inspection, ship thing so I'm just trying to guess when my car will be shipped so that I can get on with life, vacations and such.

I wrote Chrysler about the lack of communication reference the delay in delivering my car. Below is their response.
Dear Gregory:
Thank you for contacting the Chrysler Customer Assistance Center
regarding the 2008 Dodge Challenger.
We have reviewed your email regarding your dissatisfactory experience.
We regret to read of the inconvenience caused to you. It is always a
concern when our customers are dissatisfied with our products or the
Customer service. Kindly accept our apologies for the inconvenience
caused to you.
In addition, we are sorry to learn of your dissatisfaction with the time
which has elapsed since your order was placed. The popularity and
excitement for this vehicle has created a situation where demand exceeds
the amount of vehicles that can be built.
However, we would like to inform you that you are receiving your vehicle
by the first week of next month i.e. July, 2008. We would also like to
encourage you to stay in contact with your selling dealer for the latest
scheduling information. Your dealer is the best source for all
information concerning your order.
We appreciate your continued patience while waiting for delivery of your
new vehicle.
Thanks again for your email.
Sincerely,
Sandy Straube

What you want to bet that if your second message contains the words "Challenger," "delay" and "shipping," you get exactly the same response.

Here is a copy of the email I sent to Alex at Dodge. Hope we all can contact Dodge somehow. Maybe it will help.
Good luck to all,
Dave

Hi Alex,
I dont know if you are the proper person to send this to. I dont wish to go through the, form letter, customer service department anymore. If you can help great! If not, could you please forward to someone that can.
Im sure by now youre almost sorry that you got the Challenger gig. Dodge announced production starting February 6, 2008, with deliveries of the Challengers in spring 2008. It is now summer and it appears that less than one third of the cars are shipped. It also appears, that even when you have a completed car, there is a quality issue and or a transportation issue. By the time most of us receive our vehicles, it would be the normal delivery month of your 2009 models. Myself and all that I know with this car on order are very dissatisfied with the company. Also, on top of your assembly and delivery problems, your dealer network is charging such a premium, that we should expect service over and above normal.
I would suggest that Dodge do something to pacify their customers. Just to brainstorm 1. Allow the 2008 Challenger owners to qualify for your 2.99 gas deal 2. A factory rebate for our trouble 3. A 500 dollar coupon for genuine Mopar parts 4. Free delivery charges. You get the idea.
Thank you,
David Fredborg
