My dealer said his sales manager is concerned that with the delay, the pricing and availabilty of the 2009 will be released by then and that some people may wish to cancel the 2008 SRT8 for a more fully option lesser cost 2009 R/T or SRT8. Also they could see some 2008 SRT8 not getting top dollar.

Guess we will have to wait and see.

My Dealer has advised my order just went from "C" to "D". He also provided me the VIN number.

HEY CHRYSLER, REMEMBER US, YOUR CUSTOMERS? TELL US SOMETHING!

Wouldn't it be nice if Chrysler came out an just said "we have to delay production "X" days due to start up problems at our Brampton plant, we will keep you updated of our progress." Why all the secrecy and the total lack of info? Come on Chrysler, get your head out of the sand, we want our cars.
They probably aren’t telling us anything because if the media got a hold of it there would be spin off of how poor the quality is of American cars (which we all know is complete bull) and so on and so forth. By keeping a lid on it no one really knows what is going on.... I'm not thrilled about it. I'm rather fed up with waiting for information on ALL of the Challenger's....

Cuda,

I concur, it is rediculous, all Dodge has to do is to communicate with their dealerships. It is not that hard to do. Also, let everyone know how Dodge determined the order in which they are building the cars, again its not that hard. I'm sure everyone can live with the truth, it's the unknowing that will kill you. If they can't, so be it, at least they would know why or what to expect. We all understand the possibility of delay due to quality control issues and don't have a problem with that, we want a quality built challenger.

I just got off the phone with the salesman at the Dealer (In Detroit)where I'm getting my SRT8 from and he said that on his way into work that he passed a transport with 3 orange SRT8 Challengers on it. He said that mine should be arriving any day. My car went into D1 status on 4/22 and had a ship date of 4/28. I hope this means that there are no delays. Someone should be seeing their car soon.

On one hand I applaud them for not rushing this thing to market if it's not 100% correct. On the other hand, as long as this car has been on the planning board they should have had all the bugs worked out by now and they should be running at a minimum 25% of line capacity. It's just poor planning on their part, plain and simple.

I agree on the delay, if it's a late June delivery I may just cancel my 08 order and get an 09. Who in the heck wants last years model at MSRP or better.

The delay is so far JUST A RUMOR , I just got off the phone with the dodge rep I wanted My whole vin # so I could start getting insurance quotes , she said that they are already sending some out to dealerships. I wont get an estimated ship date till they actualy start building it so you guys with ship dates your cars are being built as we speak..couple more weeks hang in there!!! also this car is a 2008.75 so they are still early

Hi All!

I've been watching this thread for a while... thought I'd finally Join.

My VIN ends in: 8H301903

I called and got a "C" status - though no one really seemed to know what is going on.

Black, all options and MSRP.

Its getting really hard to wait any longer

Wow, look at all the D-status's. Well I would like to tell everyone that my dealership's owner's wife's car that I ordered is now in D status as well. Congrat's to her and you should be hearing from Dodge soon. I've filed my complaint!

Oh, those poor dealers! How will they feed their families if they can't get the $10,000 over sticker they were expecting? []
