Who has a 2008 Challenger on order?
Thanks rrunner. I just want this car to get here now. I've had money down for over 2 years.
In 1970, I wanted this car so bad, but no way I could buy one. 2 kids, house and car payment and making$600/month!

Joani reported yesterday that she slipped back to D status from D1, so did I. I would guess that her car did not ship today.....

Well Joani said her car would ship today, someone else in this forum said theirs ships on the 24th, has those two D1 status changed yet? Are there still any persons status D1 or did they all go back to D? It's really kind of strange there sure appears to be a lot of different challengers built for them not to have any of the 08 srt's delivered by now.
Has anyone heard from Joani lately? She appears to be the most advanced.

What is your take on that tupper? It is kinda hard to believe unless there is some serious issues. I'm kind of concerned with what's going on and the lack of information from Dodge. Knowing the monetary shape Dodge is in you would think they would want to get these cars out to the public and start turning a buck. But, have you any further update?
I always thought that once your car hit D1, the process went fairly quick from there...my ship date was 4/29 and it may still be...I would guess we go back to D1 very soon and the cars will move from brampton starting next week. All that I can say is that any of the information I have ever been given has not changed with reagard to when I will actually see my car...we'll find out next week...

I would definitely want them right, especially for the cost of the challenger. Its just kind of surprising as many different challengers that have been posted over the past few months, that they would continue to have issues. Oh, the way the economy is right now and not to speak of the fuel prices, for us to turn over $45k, including uncle sam's part, is not the smartest thing we could do. It just depends on your priorities. A piece of crap is not what we are looking for. It is our hard earned dollar that we laid down on 12/3, that we should deserve an update or production status of your vehicle, as a courtesy if nothing else. Dodge will not give you any information except contact your dealer, dealer says they know nothing, which for some reason I believe them.
Assuming production did not start until this week I am not surprised at all that cars are not shipping out today or at all this week. Usually with a new model they do a lot hold. Meaning that they build up however many and they sit on the lot. They continue to build more and if they find an issue they can then send people out on the lot to fix all the cars that have been built. This saves the company money because they don’t get charged by the dealers for fixing these issues. I also think the reason we keep seeing the changing status’s is because of this lot hold issue. I would guess that they make a few, find an issue, stop production of that car, fix the issue and start again. Once they get all the bugs out then they will release the lot and then they will ship all the cars out. Now I don’t know if that is what is happening but I know that they do that with almost every new model… Just my .02…
66Cuda...I think you hit the nail on the head. Long before they began production I heard that's what they would do with the first cars off the production line.
Oh I heard you coyote. Fortunately I had just returned from overseas, still single, and was able to get a new 69 Roadrunner. Things changed rather quickly after that and I have had my share of "family" vehicles since. Keep the faith!
