Who has a 2008 Challenger on order?

RE: Who has a 2008 Challenger on order?
70sguy,
I too have given up. Now comes my decision, do I try for an 09 with 6 speed, or do I just say to hell with Dodge all together.
I figure I will still have a few weeks to decide before the 08 gets here.

Birddog,
I hear you, this is the biggest bunch of BS that I've ever sat through. Did you look at Uranus VV? His car was built 5/26, and has been shipped on rail to New Jersy and has fell into the black hole there. Man, I thought we had it bad, I would be very mad.
BTW: If they do get around to shipping our cars out, what are we looking at a 2-3 week delivery?

I understand how you feel. However, there are those of us here that think your efforts have been above and beyond. It is a small way to say thanks.

I would say probably at least 2 weeks. Unless it gets stuck in a rail yard and can't be unloaded for several weeks like someone's I saw.
I took my AIH Legend out last night to Bike Night and had forgotten how many heads it can turn. (And at half the price) What it boils down to, even though the Challenger is a sweet car, I have some sweet toys and don't necessarily need another. Especially when I've been treated they way I have. As I've said in the past, had I received service like this from any other service provider, I would have been gone a long time ago. (Never to have returned.) Enough griping for now. I'm sure I will find something else to gripe about later. (Don't want to get Carpal Tunnel)
When you look at the numbers that Budman posted, over 300 cars a day from Brampton but only 220 from G E. G E can't keep up with the manufacturing. It seems to me that our cars would keep getting buried deeper and deeper. I can't remember if those numbers are exactly what he gave, but they were close. I do believe that he also said that While the Brampton was working a 5 day week, G E was working 6. That would help a little, but there still would be excess cars going to Pillette Rd. If G E were to have been working 10 or 11 hour days instead of 8, they could have been keeping up with Brampton's output.

Birddog,
Once badging is received, and we can get the car to Michigan, I believe the rail system to the SE is a little quicker than those elsewhere. If we can ever get to that point.
If they would only build car # 6,399.

I think I've finally made up my mind. It really doesn't make sense for me to purchase it at this point in my life. Not only with shelling out close to 45k for the car, I'll be building a garage for another 30-35k. I am thinking that this whole fiasco was a blessing in disguise. Saved me a butt load of money and enlightened me on how inept Chrysler/Dodge really is.
Now comes the chore of trying to get my deposit back. It was only 1,000, so it's not like the one guy who put down 20 or 30k and then bought from someone else. I'll still continue to track the car, just so I know when to contact the dealer about the deposit.

Birddog,
I believe the Budman was right, our cars may have been picked up yesterday. Look at the post "strange Siting" This makes more sense now. There was a truck spotted full of orange challengers headed from Windsor towards Toronto or Brampton. Maybe they are going to remake ours as an 09 or are they being repaired back at Brampton. VV tonight will be interesting.
