RE: Why the rush to hurry up and wait for the 09's?
In planning to buy the Challenger it was a 6 speed all the way. The wife said I was being unfair so I bought her the 06 Mustang Gt with an auto...that way she cant complain she doesnt have a go fast for her. I told her..hands off the Challenger, that is Daddy's car.

I ordered an SRT Challenger now because of the limited number of SRTs to be produced (around 5,000) and the rumor that the Hemi-orange will not be offered for the entire 2009 SRT run. I also got a good deal- about $1,300 off MSRP.

It's nice to see there's deals happening now after all that price gouging of the 08s. $1300 off msrp, not bad for a brand new car. I will definitely be looking for at least $1,000 off msrp when I go to buy now. The dealers have nothing to lose by selling for under msrp since dodge seems to be planning to crank out as many as are ordered.

Good deals can be had!
I just learned that a dealer in southern California is selling all SRTs and R/Ts for $500 over invoice. I already ordered mine and I live on the east coast. Even though it was cheaper than my deal, delivery costs would eat up the $800 savings.

I'm waiting for the 392 and will def get a manual, and hopefully a shaker hood. No way will the wife touch this car except to look hot in the passenger seat.

Personally I don't think the 6.4 will be available as soon as 09. To be honest, I'll frankly be surprised if the 6.4 sees the light of day at all - I hope it does, but with things the way they are now, in a couple of years, motors like that will be a very hard sell to the bean counters and the emission & fuel economy police... time will tell. If it is offered, I'd sure hate to see the gas-guzzler tax on it... [sm=yikesomg.gif]

I am waiting for the end of 2009 and will be wishing or dreaming for the 6.4L to appear. We shall see.
