Would you buy the V6?
Yeah, the chance of a twin-turbo V6 coming in the Challenger are nill to none. I have heard about aftermarket superchargers being available for the 3.5L. It wouldn't surprise me if an aftermarket turbo kit was made available.

Really? You complained earlier at the thought of a 300 hp V6 saying that people want the sound of a V8. So when do you see a V6 as a adequate subsitute?

The only way I would personally buy a V6 is if it was a twin TURBO CHARGED v6 making at least 400HP & GOBBS of torq....
Otherwise, it will be a base model 5.7 Hemi V8 for me....
Because of the MSRP price of the 6.1 & 6.4 Hemi SRT being out of reach...[&o]

that being said... If and only IF Dodge DID-NOT make a base lower priced 5.7 V8 Hemi Challenger available, and offered instead a twin turbo V6 with great power & torq numbers as the only alternative,(which as you have said, & I agree that there is a snowballs chance in Miami of ever happening,) ...
THAT would be the only way I'd take a V6 Challenger...
I hope that I clarified myself...
Sorry for any confusion on the subject I might have caused...
Okay that clears that up Sambo77. Now I understand what you are saying.
BB73Challenger, the difference would be that a Prowler would still probably be more expensive because those were supposed to have cost in the $40,000 when they were new.

i would never put a v6 in my challenger but is a good option for the people that really want a challenger and cant aford the v8
just think about it this way, it is just a nother reason to say,"my chally is better than your chally!"

Some people will cause they want the name(they think its a cool trend) But I would buy V8 because its for more then name for its performance and legend. V6 is an insult!!! you want good gas mileage buy an import!!!
There is no way I would ever buy a Challenger with a V-6. I want muscle, pure muscle. And if it means giving up a few things here and there to get it so be it.
Down here in Houston, there are plenty of the 'Stangs but the majority of them are V-6's. I kinda get irked [:@] when I see V-6 mustangs flippin around town, you know they are nothing but v-6's but they try to make them look like V-8's. Why waste my money and my time. If I am going to buy a muscle car, then its going to be muscle thru and thru. Not going to buy something second rate.
Unfortunately, I drive an 01 F150 supercrew. (don't blame me - my husband bought it for me) [
] I was in the process of trading it in on a Dodge Ram (which is what I really wanted) when I saw the Challenger concept. No way Jose. I will baby this thing until the Challenger comes out and I am so looking forward to blowin the doors wide open on those V-6 mustangs I see every day.

It has been rumored on some of these chat boards that Dodge will never offer a base model 5.7-Hemi V8 Challenger and would probably ONLY make a base V6 model and a limitted 6.1 Hemi-V8 model...[
]
Which do yo think is more important...
A base V6 model to go with the 6.1-Hemi V8 ???[&:]
Or a base 5.7-Hemi V8 model to go with the 6.1 Hemi-V8 to compete against the base model V8 Mustang GT?
MY VOTE GOES TO THE BASE 5.7-HEMI V8 CHALLENGER....
WHATS YOUR VOTE?
