Used RT question

I'm not in a position to buy a new RT, so I'm looking at used. What would your advice be on mileage limits while shopping. I see a lot with over 100k miles going for over $18k, and some decent looking cars with 52-77k miles priced between$16-21k.
How much estimated life is left on these, and at what point does the car start needing more than general maintenance?
I'm looking at Manual transmission vehicles, and just ran across one that had need of a driveshaft replacement at just about 55k miles. Is that common? Attributed to the driver?
Any advice is welcome and appreciated.

Look for one that's been crashed, preferably low miles and repaired if you're gonna keep ahold of it for a little while..the resell value won't be that good but you can get a car with an accident for thousands of dollars cheaper than one without an accident.. like 10k less
