Default 2009 Lotus Evora vs the Dodge Challenger

Some of you early members on forum remember be talking about how much I loved the Ford GT40 and when Ford introduced the Ford GT it was too expensive.
I had also talked about how I am a big fan of power to weight ratio and mid-engine cars and so I liked the Lotus family of cars. But Lotus never introduced the M250 10 years ago so I was disappointed.

Well the 2009 Lotus Evora caught my eye because while I am a fan of the Cayman, I don't think it is the best looking car and the Evora is competing with it. But when I converted the cost of 45K-50K pounds to American dollars I got stick shock.

I will continue to stick to the Challenger for my next car but the Evora is a very nice looking high performance car.

See here: http://www.supercars.net/cars/4124.html

What do you think?

Uhhhhhh...it kinda looks like something in "2 Fast, 2 Furious." And isn't the pound still worth about 2 bucks? I think I'd give it a pass.

I have always liked the Ford GT so I would stick with that dream.
The one import I would like to get and restore is a little 914.
Those were always cool when I was a kid.

Nice! Its about time Lotus put something new out. They were starting to look like a one-trick-pony with the Elise/Exige. I loved the old V8 Esprit.

(Not that I ever drove any of these cars.)

We looked at the Elise before the Challenger, but my wife couldn't get in or out of it.

Well, Jeremiah I can see the appeal to it. It looks sleek to say the least. It looks like it would fun. It just wouldn't be for me. The price is too rich for what I feel like I'd be getting out of it. If Lotus were to get either a more exclusive engine sort of like what Porsche does or if they were going to get an engine that was more than just a slightly tuned engine from a Camry, I would be far more likely to be tempted by such a car. In my opinion, a supercar needs to have an engine that is more unusual to make it seem like it is worth the extra money.
