The acceleration times are not better despite the higher output. Yes the GT500 does have heater, A/C, a rear seat, a sound deadner, but in my book, the car should be better completely superior in acceleration after 7 years and Shelby's influence, but it isn't. The Cobra R didn't already have a supercharger in it; therefore, I believe it will have more untapped potiential than the GT500.

technically, the skyline still exists, but it is very different from the skylines in the video games and tuner mags. the current nissan skyline (which still isnt technically built by nissan) is the Skyline V35, and it is sold here as the Infiniti G35 sedan and coupe...

however, nissan/prince motors have a new skyline planned for Us release, which is rumored to have either a V8, or possibly a forced induction version of the VQ35.

Interesting. Were all the Skylines made by some one else, or is this one just an exception?

the skyline spent its first 11 years as the Prince Skyline.

in 1966 the Japanese gov't decided that the small companies like prince, toyota, nissan, daihastu, etc...would stand a better chance of making it in the world market, so small companies merged with larger companies...in this case, prince merged with nissan. however, prince is still responsible for building the skylines. that is supposedly one of the reasons that it has not been offered here in its better forms (R34 generation), because nissan wants to basically completely absorb prince, and take full credit for the skyline, but prince has refused, so to spite prince, they wouldnt send it here...

I hate it when businesses act childish. Success should come before a name dispute. Thanks for the history info.
