This is a long but a very interesting story. This guy is a thinker. Just think, this can keep the tree huggers happy and the gear head muscle car driver.

Remove the electric engine part and I would definitely consider such an engine.

Wouldn't it at least be able to do that much without the electric engine? Granted the electric engine helps extend the fuel economy, but wouldn't this engine already accomplish the better fuel economy part on its own?
