The posts in this thread reflect what I thought last night as I was watching the returns and seeing which states went for which candidate. My thought? As a country we have changed as evident by electing an African-American man to the White House which by the way as of today is the single most defining moment in this countries history that decries the freedoms that most people in this country have enjoyed for hundreds of years. The second half of my thought? As a people we havent changed that much. Look at the states that voted against him. Mostly confederate states or sympathizers. My observations thats all. We need to seize this event and as a country/people make a statement to the world that we are ONE people, ONE country instead of all of the nonsense that has plagued us ever since day 1.

 

lol I called out each state for mcain and it happened. He won most of the racist south. (not everyone is racist in those states)

but yea I like the cf hood on one of the sema challengers.

I'm with you brucer. Whatever your political view, I felt that this was a big moment for us as a country. Everyone has reasons for voting the way they did. I will just say that living in the south, I find that the majority of people voting for McCain never gave Obama a chance. They just believe whatever rumors are flying around. People here are still under the belief that he is a Muslim or a terrorist, it is unbelievable.

Anyway, seeing as how he won, I just felt compelled to make a celebratory post about it. I figured since he won the majority of people supported him, apparently that doesn't go for this forum so I'm sorry. It would be good if someone could move this to the off topic section if anyone wants to continue arguing. I however am not going to since it will not sway anyone, the decision has been made and I still see the same empty campaign arguments being made against him that I've heard ad nauseum for the last year.

then tell me why he won only those states and everything north of it obama won. Please I know racism is everywhere but in those areas there is more than the others......I didnt say everyone so dont be mad get glad!
