The thought of having more than one vehicle to choose from to drive in for work, school, or whatever is a foreign to me. I still have only one car and only really need one. The A/C is fine, it might not be the fastest but I can beat most cars around (I4 Civics), the fuel economy is great, there is plenty of room, it does good in the snow (as long as it isn't 11 inches or higher), it is safe. It fills all my real needs. I hope to be in your positions in a couple years. I want to have a Challenger as well as a 4x4 of some sort (maybe a Dakota or Diesel Liberty) for the snow that is 11 inches or higher.

Oh and I Forgot to mention when the Wife and I go out and not sure what will happen we take her Toyota Rav4. She can't drive manuals so if I were to get a little wasted, she can still drive home. And if she does, then I can drive. The only time I am allowed to drive the Rav.

My truck is also useful for Lowes runs and hauling the dirtbike.

Could you tell me again what you have for a truck, Techman? So she really doesn't like to share the Rav4, eh? It might be a good thing to have her learn how to drive a manual because you never know when she might have to drive one.

That's right you have a 1990 4.0L Ranger. If the Ranger isn't an automatic, you could have her learn to drive the Ranger. I don't get it why people are so afraid of driving manuals in the first place. After about a week of driving one, you get the hang of it.

Nope, it is Auto. It was my great uncles truck before he became very sick. He is in his 80's.

I think she fears the hills. Also in L.A., an Auto is much nicer to have. Luckily my commute is easy. I go the opposite way of traffic. But I have had the commute of an 1 and a half in stop and go traffic before with a manual, and it sucks. If I had that kind of commute not, I may have odpted for manual on the Mustang.

when i lived in pittsburgh right after college..i lived in town, and worked outside of town, so during "rush hour in"...i was driving outbound, and vise versa....

but at some point i did have to deal with the traffic once i got a different job...very hilly area, and when i had the bmw, it was a bit of a pain...

Yep, my uncle takes really good care of his cars. And so do I. That is one reason I took it. It is really the "families" truck. I got it when the neon was killed. The rules are, anyone in the family that needs it can use it, AND I can't sell or trade it in. If I would get another truck, I would have to give it back to my mom.

I know how that works. My brother got my mom's late uncle's truck, an 1987 S-10. I think this will be the last time we try to keep something in the family. That thing has been nothing but trouble and it has caused more problems in the family than it has prevented.

I can understand about the hills part. Forgot to include that in the equation.
