Default 727 w/2400 stall & shift kit

I have a 70 Challenger with a 440 and a automatic, 727 with a 2400 stall converter and shift kit to a 3.23 posi rear end. Have more than enough power to smoke em and break them loose when I nail it, but when shifting at WOT (5500 to 5800 rpm) I barely get a chirp. With my Camaro it was a much harder shift and a real chirp with a 2200 stall.

The trans shop is telling me that Chrysler transmissions back then have a set pressure in the valve body and can not be adjusted or changed like a Chevy. Is this true or is he just trying to get out of going in and making adjustments? I know engines and most mechanical except transmissions.

Any help out there?

Thanks

I am also not a transmission person, but I will tell you that my 340 feeding into a built 727 barks drag radials hard from 1-2, but not so much from 2-3.

Found the problem, when I had the trans rebuilt and kit installed it was set up stock. I had a Trans-Go TF-2 installed. If I have time next week or so I'll bring it back and he will set it up for street/strip which should really help.

Thanks for the input!
