The key FOB is smarter than some people. At a car show last month some punk kid about 19 thought he was going to start my challenger without my permission. Some of his buddies blocked my view so he could sneek into the car, my wife was on the passenger side and saw him so she headed for the driver side and yanked him out. I first noticed something was wrong when I saw the brake lights come on, he had his foot on the brake trying to start it, I don't know if he pushed the button or not but I believe he probably did.
After I chewed his @ss out and told him and his buddies to leave I wondered what he would have done if the car had started?????

As I was backing out of my driveway today . I noticed the trunk light was on ( open ) . Stopped to shut it . Guess I'm going to have to keep pocket change out of my right pocket with the key. Or did I do that starting the car. Could it be the key is sending signal's without me pushing a button.

I miss the floor dimmer switch too! Who is the genius that designed it so you have to take your hand off the wheel again just to dim the lights! THe dimmer worked great and was easy to replace if it failed. Some of the old designs are just better! Other than that I do dig the steering wheel volume controls etc.

I have been having issues with my FOB too. mine is only revolving around the remote start it never works if the key/fob has been in my pocket, but if I put it in my coat cell phone pocket it works everytime.

I forgot about the floor dimmer switch, that would have been classic for all the young punks they would never have a clue how to get the hi beams on.

and mine as well has a floor volume control, I just have to reprogram my daughter not to be memorizing the speed when she is with me.

I'm sure this one saves them a little money since they don't have to make two parts
Everything said and done, this is undoubtedly the reason we have fobs instead of conventional keys. Notice how they saved 59 cents or whatever by NOT putting a keyhole on the trunk lid?
Acura did the same thing no key access for the trunk
