some people want good power and fun with a v6 too rubber....like if dodge would have had a 5 speed manual with the v6 more people would probably buy, mustang and the camaro have it for no charge why cant dodge...these are some of the small things that piss of current dodge owners such as myself. The SE is great and even with a 4 speed auto it still has to be fun riding around in a challenger. I think chyvy aimed more at the performance market with projected 1/4th mile time of 14 sec for the v6 and dodge aimed at the retro guys like alot of us here are.......

I'll defend you. . .

Sounds like you're going back and forth trying to make a logical decision over which car you want. A lot of people on here will just defend their brand to the death. I think it's stupid and the reason why American car companies were surpassed by the japanese, we were stupidly loyal to our fords, chevys, dodges and so the quality dropped and they made crap cars figuring we'd keep buying them anyway.

I'm in the same boat but comparing the V6 models. I agree that the camaro isn't as pretty but I've yet to see it in person so my opinion there could change. I love the challenger but it seems like chevy has outdone it in hp and gas mileage at only $1000 more. It is nice not to be biased towards one brand so that I can make the best choice for myself. Right now I'm just hoping dodge will somehow respond with a price drop or a more powerful V6. They have to do something because for people who like both the choice seems pretty obvious right now, camaro is the best bang for your buck. And of course for comparing two competing models without calling the camaro ugly I'll be tagged as a troll and told to leave and go to the camaro forums too
thanks

and no you wont only kevin is the devil around here hahaha

Is it just me... or is it kind of puzzling that someone would come to a Challenger forum... filled with Mopar enthusiasts expecting that they will be somehow praised for helping us to see the light on the beauty power and mystic behind the new camero..?? Maybe I am just really missing something here..??

Or... maybe I should go join a camero forum myself and see how they welcome me shedding light on all my thoughts about the Challenger...

Justine , there is nothing at all wrong with a v6 Challenger , they are just as beautiful...

There is a reason the v6 is half the price of the performance car ... it's because it's not a performance car. It's just not ... neither is the 2.7L Charger , 3.5 Charger , v6 Stang , or V6 Camaro (it sounded like a garbage can in Jay Leno's garage .. and 300HP is not performance. Maybe in a small lotus or 350z but not the Camaro)

And Kevin ...

Why don't you tell everyone on this board about your thoughts of "Canceling your D1 Status Challenger".

Come on man lol I kinda feel bad for you now that this has gotten really big but please man ... stop arguing with everyone!! It's obvious you seek out other opinions and advice which is fine , but your doing it in kind of a "troll" way.

And last comment about the Camaro : It could have 600 HP and be 5K less then the SRT and I wouldnt buy it because it's a Chevy and it's ugly in my eyes , and don't talk about numbers until someone takes ownership.

It's not expecting to be praised....it is expecting for people to have enough education to have a normal comversation..... that went out the door a while ago.

Power is an issue in whatever car you choose. There's no way in hell I would buy a challenger with the 2.7 even if it looked the same. Just because I can't afford the V8 doesn't mean I don't want a quick car for a great price. The V6 challenger is supposed to do 0-60 in 7.8 seconds but the camaro supposedly does it in 6. If you had a choice between two challengers with those specs you'd pick the quick one! The camaro is also supposed to get impressive gas mileage. Also chevy's got a better selection of colors on the V6 model, orange, bright blue, and yellow. . .

I'm not ready to jump ship yet though, I gotta wait and see what dodge does! The phoenix engine might solve the power and mpg issue and 2010 might bring a better selection of colors.

Should also mention that the V6 camaro's got a manual transmission standard and a six speed automatic optional. That will drag a few buyers to their side I'm sure.

Some of us own more than one brand. Some of us will enjoy comparing our Mustangs, Camaros, and Challengers. I will have all three soon, two owned, one to go, ordered today.

Maybe it is you who should take a hike if you can't play nice?
