Or are they just speculating?

Yes....allpar....where I first spied what could have been a real boon to DaimlerChrysler's, the potent ME412.....man I wish they would have made that.....watching Lambo's, Ferraris et. al. have their lunched served to them by a Mopar with German power and American know how.....

McClaren, McSchmaren.......

I can understand why they didn't do that one....but the Firepower.....I think they missed the fire w/ that one.....6.4 in that jammy with Viper frame and components....seemed like a natural overlap and a chance to make a hot car that could offer luxury and power....plus it had an Aston kind of look to it...if James Bond could be seen in a Mustang...this would have been perfect.....

I still say they should have brought out the Tomahawk. Wouldn't have to worry about any accident cleanups. Everything would be vaporized.

It sounds like they are just repeating a common rumor. Given that it will not be a large production model for the UK, they might only offer the top engine they are planning on using. I guess they have concluded that the people in the UK don't really want an auto.

The ME412 was a good idea especially in changing Chrysler's image; however, I would have done a few things differently. For one, it shouldn't have used a MB powertrain. That turns off Chrysler customers and makes models fail.

The Firepower should be pursued for sure. The only thing is they need a different transmission. Given that Chrysler is a luxury orientated brand, they need to have an auto for all levels. From what I have read the W5A580 cannot handle the level of torque that the 6.4L will produce. I sometimes wonder if they shouldn't make a special version of the V10 available for it to compete against the supercar/luxury class.

I would have produced the Tomahawk as well, it probably would have been popular enough to make a profit.

I did not see anything in the article that we did not already know.
