The 383 looks like it is '67-'69 era, mainly because of the turquoise paint. The small block cars were turquoise from '70-'74ish. The paint is original? Read us off that fendertag code when you get the car home. I hope you are keeping that bizarro tan interior, even on a Go Mango machine that is still fairly rare.
Great find man, I hope my challenger will show up soon!

Hey not a bad deal. I tracked a 1970 440, 4-speed and a dana rear end car on E-bay motors. The car was a total mess. It had no engine or transmission and the dana had been replaced witha 8 3/4. The cars paint was faded and primed and the interior was piece patched. The car was originally hemi orange. There were 20 bids and the car sold for 10,300. I was shocked at the price to be perfectly honest. But if they spend 20,000 to resore it it will more than likely sell for over 100,000. Not a bad investment. But it makes it harder for car guys to buy the car of their dreams. I'm glad I held on to my Challenger and it will be handed down to my sons who love to ride and drive it as much as I do. So with that said you got the deal of a life time. Enjoy the rebuild, it will be a great time to enjoy your freinds and family as ya'll put this beast together. Its great to watch a car come back from the dead and to be in its prime once again. Take care and be safe, Randy.

The car has a 440 in it now, I just mentioned the 383 because thats what the vin tag reveals that it should be. The bluise turquoise color are the plug wires that are on the engine. It does not have the original engine but for the most part the car appears original. And yes I had no intention on replacing the interior, just reparing the mice damage. The interior is in fair to good condition and it just needs to be cleaned. There is grain dust all over the damn place. Sits next to a HUGE John Deere Combine. I will get you the tag information as soon as I can locate them all when its home. Was hopeing this weekend but we are suposedley getting 6-12" of the old man winters dandruff tonight and tomorrow.

Here are a few more interior pics....

LOL, wasn't sure if this thread would still be around. You guys itching for an update? Well probably not, been to long. Finally got the car home and the exterior cleaned up. Still have not checked the tranny to see originality. The PAINT not original at all it has been painted at least four times, during which the fender tag went MIA. Not sure if that de-values the car alot or not.

BTW: I have not been able to make up dates because of lost account info. I have a new one now ILLMOPAR and will keep you guys informed. Anyone know how to combine posts?

Yes, definately need these updates. Looks like a great find. The shifter and center console are from a 1970 E body. The 71's used a t handle and the rear of the console had an ashtray instead of the seat belt holders. Not trying to be critical, just letting you know what you have. BTW the 70 console tops are a lot more rare than the 71 thru 74's.

I AM SERIOUSLY HAVING ISSUES LOADING PICS!!!! So I am trying to get the updated pics up just might take some more time. My console does have an ashtray at the rear of the console, or an ashtray "area" and the belts bolt into the floor pan below it. I have a pic that shows this I swear[:@] So the shifter mounti is not a '71, thats good to know.

Cool, pic posted previously shows what I beleived to be an ashetray "area" and where the seatbelts mounted. Check out the loaded trunk, all kind of goodies in here. Including two (2) Red-line Dog Dish Hubs, seen at the bottom of the pic. One (1) yolk or shifting member to the tranny from when they converted it. Several suspension peices. One (1) Older Carberauter with no throttle body?? WTF? Is this a dual carb for a hemi?? It is stamped "Carter AFB" I will post those pics when soon so I can ID it. and If that wasnt cool "possibly" I found a 1971 AM/FM Multiplex E-Body Radio with a working AM side. I can only assume it came out of the HOLE in the dash, it has the plug for the remote cassette player but I DID NOT FIND THAT.

Was thinking of makeing some morib display of all the mouse skulls recovered in this dusty beast, after all ther were only 75 mice recovered. Here is where they were living for who knows how long. A WHILE... Under the rear seat. Why can I only post one pic per reply?

So, youv'e seen her dirty now see her clean makes a bit of difference. ALOT of DIFFERENCE. And unfortunatley that is all I was able to do to her since bringing her home. Some personal things basically "LIFE" happened and I had to put her on the back burner. I was able to clean out the cams and rockers she is not locked up. Replaced most of the vital components. Drained and had the radiator cleaned/tested and repainted. So before life happned I was ready to drop and clean the fuel tank, pop on the new eddlebrock radiator and punch the gas. Maybee this spring...
