Thanks for the kind words guys, I saw the black production Challenger SRT-8 and I think it was love at first sight. I am in the process of putting the 340 back together and getting the interior parts ordered. I have decided to put the auto back in for a while because of the $ 5300 price tag on the Keisler 5-speed. I need to have some cash flow for a nice down payment on the 2009 Challenger. And I'm a little impatient to get the 71 back on the road and go to some of the cruise events To drive my Challenger to the dealership is going to be so cool. As for the 340... well its going to get some head work and a new bump stick, deep pan and a 2 1/2" mandrell bent Dynomax exhaust system. That should get the ponies up and we have a new 1/4 mile track opening at Charlotte and I want to run some times. Thanks again guys for your encouraging posts and as soon as I can get her outside under her own power, I'll post some quality pictures so you can see what a nice job the guys did on the car

WOW Lear your car is gourgous!! I haven't looked at this thread in a while.

How's the project coming along. Hopefully by now you should have the motor and trans installed. It's getting real close to the cruising season, well at least for us a little more north. I can't wait to be able to take mine out for a cruise.

I'm ordering new tires for mine next week, I'm pretty sure I want to go P235/60/15 all the way around. What size do you have on your car? I was also hoping to get new heads this year, but my funds are lacking alittle, so it will have to wait a couple of months. Although those 440 source stealth heads are really cheap, and very tempting. I've heard their having a lot of problems with the gasket placement issues with them, hopefully once all of the kinks are worked out, then i will be able to purchase a set.

jbd thanks for the kind words and I wish I could say that I'm driving around now, but thats not the case. My heads should be finished this week and my ARP head bolts will be in. I still have to order the Moroso oil pan and pick up. I also need to get the aluminium radiator and trans lines. Then I should be close. And to let you know... cruising season is in here in the south 73 degrees today and 40s in the morning. I will be working 6-12s for the next month and its on nights[&o] But I will have some money to spend when its over. Sounds good on the tires, they must really fill out the wheel well. Let me know when you get the 440 stealth heads, because I am moving on to my 400-6 GTX next and will be looking for a good flowing head. As far as wheels and tires for mine, I am running the stock 14" ralley wheels 5.5" wide[X(] so an upgrade is in order. I think I'm going with the 15x10 in the back? And 15x8 in the front... and these are chrome plated. I believe they are from vintage wheels. I just need to measure the wheel well to see if the 10s work on the back. I don't want to jack the car up and will want a stock ride height. When will the big R/T hit the streets there, I know its got to be hard not to drive it all winter. Any other goodies going on before years end?

Well all the engine parts are in and I will be taking some pictures of the engine with all the goodies on it before we drop it in. I'll be back in town in the next 2 weeks and will have a little time to spend on the Challenger. Thanks to 1badmirada for talking me into the air gap intake and I settled on a 670 Avenger Holley carb. Got a fluid damper and some shiny parts So as soon as I can get to the house I will be putting things together.

I'd suggest calling your 1967 model the Barracuda. 'Cudas didn't exist till 1970 and were only available in E-bodies, not A-bodies.
